Albany Attorney Mary Colwell

I decided to become a lawyer because of an interest that grew in high school. I come from a family of immigrant parents, they’re both from Italy, so in high school I was part of mock trial and I really thought that spoke to my strengths as a litigator, a negotiator, and so the interest just grew from there. I enjoy the challenge of the practice of law. While the case law is similar n each case, the circumstances for each case are unique and the particulars, and so using my knowledge of the law and trying to overcome some very complicated and challenging issues is something I really enjoy. I think the practice of law really speaks to my strengths. I’ve always been told that I’m a great argumentative personality. Not to mean that I’m argumentative for the sake of being so, but I think that I have great strengths as a litigator. Also my negotiation skills, there’s a great passion that I’ve been told I have and I think that together with litigating skills and negotiating skills really present challenges that I enjoy to overcome.
