The New York State Bar Association admitted him to practice the following year, and he is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York.
Early in his legal career, Mr. Colwell served as assistant public defender with the Columbia County Public Defender’s Office, where he gained invaluable trial experience. Along with maintaining a successful legal practice, he enjoys camping, hiking and skiing with his family and two dogs (Elvis and Lucy).
