Our growing law firm is looking to hire a family attorney who is passionate about representing clients facing one of the most challenging times in their lives. Candidates should be adept at preparing necessary legal documents in connection with prenuptial agreements, initiating and finalizing divorces, alimony, and child support/child custody. Experience in handling legal issues such as child abuse, child custody, and domestic violence is also a must. Responsibilities
- Ensure clients are effectively represented at court hearings as needed
- Draft pleadings, motions, contracts, marital settlement agreements, judgments, and orders for a high volume of cases
- Maintain client files to ensure they are properly organized and up to date
- Communicate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move through the civil litigation process
- Advocate on behalf of clients by understanding their needs, effectively analyzing the situation and forming a strategy for a plan of action
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree with a legal background and Juris Doctor degree required
- Prior work or studies in criminal justice preferred
- Candidates should be great negotiators and communicators, specifically in situations when emotions and stress are high
- Proven record of success in advocating for plaintiffs and defendants
- **Must have worked 1-2 plus years handling family law cases**
Compensation
$75,000 – $100,000 per year
