As Director of Legal Operations for The Colwell Law Group, Michael C. Clarke is responsible for the administration and delivery of world class legal representation to firm’s clients. Mr. Clarke works with staff and clients alike, to ensure that clients receive effective, efficient, and results-driven counsel from The Colwell Law Group, LLC. As well as overseeing the firm’s recruitment efforts, hiring, and onboarding, Mr. Clarke is also responsible for the professional development initiatives for The Colwell Law Group LLC staff.

Mr. Clarke’s has experience in the areas of elder law; nursing home oversight; health law; ethics; corporate and government program compliance; risk management and avoidance; and, labor law enforcement. Mr. Clarke previously served as Managing Attorney for a mid-sized litigation firm in New York City; Chief of Staff and Counsel for the Offices of the New York State Inspector General; Director of Compliance for United Technologies Corporation/ Pratt & Whitney; Director of the Office of Special Investigations for the New York State Department of Labor; Special Assistant Attorney General for the New York State Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit; and, in-house counsel at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Mr. Clarke commenced his legal career as a prosecutor in New York City.
As well as being an experienced litigator, Mr. Clarke has managed legal and paralegal staff for over a decade and a half. For fifteen years, his legal management model has merged mentorship, encouragement, providing staff with all tools needed to succeed, and focusing on accompanying each staff member to their professional potential in a client-based setting.
Mr. Clarke graduated from St. John’s University School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Fordham University. Mr. Clarke is admitted to practice in New York, and the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.
