Mary Theresa Colwell

Mary T. Colwell (nee Pasqualino) is an Owner and Partner at The Colwell Law Group, LLC. Mrs. Colwell brings over 20 years of practice and managing experience to the firm.

Upon graduation from law school, Mrs. Colwell served as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in the Motions and Appeals Bureau at the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office in Freehold, New Jersey. Subsequently, Mrs. Colwell gained valuable litigation experience in a general practice setting at Hobbie, Corrigan, Bertuccio & Taschy. Mrs. Colwell later returned to Albany, New York, where she was born and raised; there, she handled a complex case load at the Law Offices of Alice K. Berke, P.C., where she concentrated her practice in matrimonial and family, real estate, vehicle and traffic, and criminal law matters.

In September 2008, Mrs. Colwell joined her husband Kevin at Colwell, Ferrentino & Petroccione, LLP. Since that time, the Colwells have established The Colwell Law Group, LLC and led the firm to become the best in class, client-focused and fastest growing family and matrimonial practice in the Nation. Mrs. Colwell has been awarded the designation as “Superlawyer” in 2021, 2022 and 2023. Mrs. Colwell graduated from Albany Law School of Union University at Albany, New York with a concentration in Criminal Law. While at Albany Law School, Mrs. Colwell was a member of the Moot Court Board, the Women’s Law Caucus and Vice-President of the Italian-American Law Students Association. Mrs. Colwell was admitted to the New Jersey State bar in December 2001, and the New York State bar in January 2002. Mrs. Colwell is also admitted in the United States District Courts for the Districts of New Jersey and the Northern District of New York. In May 2005, Mrs. Colwell was selected for admission to the United States Supreme Court (Washington, D.C.). Mrs. Colwell is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Italian-American Bar Association and the Capital District Women’s Bar Association.
