Kyle Starks joined The Colwell Law Group, LLC in March 2022 as an Associate Attorney. He graduated Cum Laude from Albany Law School of Union University in 2019 attaining Dean’s List from 2017 through 2019 and is admitted to the New York State Bar.
While in law school, Mr. Starks was an Octofinalist for Gabrielli Moot Court Competition and a Quarterfinalist for Donna Jo Morse Negotiations Competition.
Prior to joining Colwell Law, Kyle served as an Assistant District Attorney with the Albany County District Attorney’s Office. Mr. Starks prosecuted and tried domestic violence cases for Albany County, securing successful dispositions for victims of domestic violence. Following his tenure with Albany County, Kyle expanded his professional portfolio to include residential real estate law, as well as the formations of corporations and LLC’s for all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.
Prior to attending Albany Law School, Mr. Starks graduated from the University at Oswego (SUNY) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Justice on the Dean’s List. While in college, he was the Brotherhood Development Director for Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity, leading and instructing new members in philanthropic and community service events. He earned the high honor of campus student involvement, The President’s Award of Achievement, in 2011, 2012 and 2015. During his time at Colwell Law, Mr. Starks was awarded the designation as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers in Upstate New York for 2023. No more than 2.5 percent are named to the Rising Stars list.
When he is not working, he enjoys cooking for his family and participating in outdoor sports like football and soccer.
