Elizabeth A. Murad

Elizabeth A. Murad joined The Colwell Law Group as an Associate Attorney in June of 2021 concentrating her practice in matrimonial and family law matters. Elizabeth was previously employed by Smith, Dominelli & Guetti, LLC in Albany practicing matrimonial and family law as well as personal injury litigation.

Elizabeth graduated from Albany Law School, cum laude, in May of 2019.  While at Albany Law, Ms. Murad served as the 3L President, on the Student Bar Association, chaired the Gabrielli National Family Law Moot Court Competition, co-chaired the Women’s Law Caucus, was Pro Bono Project Director for the Albany County Family Court Help Desk.  Elizabeth remains an active volunteer with Albany Law School as an Agent of the Class, and with the Moot Court Program.

Elizabeth gained invaluable experience in law school first interning at The Justice Center at Albany Law School, representing survivors of Domestic Violence under a student practice order.  She effectively negotiated with opposing counsel and attorneys for the children in family law matters to obtain Orders of Protection, Paternity, Custody, Child Support and Name Change.

Simultaneously, Elizabeth interned at The Legal Project, where she litigated numerous cases involving matrimonial and family matters. As a law student, Elizabeth completed over 1,000 hours of pro bono service.

Ms. Murad is a 2016 cum laude graduate of Union College in Schenectady, New York, earning a BS in philosophy and psychology. Elizabeth is an active volunteer with Union College, facilitating the spread of college news, and the College’s Annual Fund.

In her spare time, Elizabeth enjoys painting, wood burning, yoga, hiking nature trails and social justice advocacy.
